As a platform used to give aspiring female journalists a voice, Creative Media Girls has been an astounding experience I am grateful for. Much like Her Campus, I am given the opportunity to choose the topic each week I would like to write about. My only obligation is that through my words I speak to teenagers and young adults in order to connect with them. I have been able to, as a young adult myself understand the ups and downs of growing up while being plus size, sustaining mental health issues, and more. To add on, I write short paragraphs dedicated to showing appreciation to women who are prevalent in the media. Such as filmmaker, Ava DuVernay, who has embarked on a successful career as a director while documenting social issues. As time progressed my skills in writing have increased along with my marketing techniques. Learning ways in which to use different platforms and the available tools on such has been a magnificent experience. Since I am networking in hopes of entering the media industry Creative Media Girls has helped me adapt my academic strengths in the work field. To add on, I have been able to gardener more expertise while being an intern which I can utilize in the near future.
