Her Campus George Mason
Her Campus is an online publication that is used to give a voice to female university students. With a dominant female base, the magazine is present in over 300 colleges globally. Founded in 2009 by three Harvard students: Stephanie Kaplan, Windsor Hanger Western, and Annie Wang. The publication is increasing within its presence with over 7,000 writers, pursing or not pursuing a degree in Journalism. As Her Campus fanbase grows the publication is doing such as well being featured on fellow magazines such as U.S. News & World Report, The New York Times, and more. During my senior year of college I had the luxury of becoming part of the association and in doing so built my journalistic skills.
Marketing Choices
Marketing Choices is an established marketing agency with a qualified staff using their expertise to assist in building companies’ presence and quality for viewers. As an agency, they specialize in multiple marketing tools: Marketing Design, Social Media Management, Website Management, Rebranding, Content, and Writing. With signed clients in the adoption and therapy field, Marketing Choices helps create a plethora of content including material written to end the stigma surrounding such topics from society. In the midst to establish more traffic on clients' sites, the agency implements the process of SEO. As an intern, I have been able to learn and endure different techniques.
Creative Media Girls
Creative Media Girls is a non-profit organization founded by North Carolina A&T State University alumni, Micha Caldwell. Created as a platform used to give voices to young female journalists aspiring to pursue such a career as an adult the organization helps blossom those parts of such creativity. Instead of relying on one domain of media Creative Media Girls focuses on different forms: video, audio, writing, and more. With a talented team that possesses a group of intact core values, the association is set to promote and connect with younger audiences who would like to be in the media industry once older. Looking to grow, Creative Media Girls strives to become part of established media networks in the near future. As a current intern, I have been able to connect and learn about different objectives in media while having a sense of positivity while doing so.
KRX Firm
KRX Firm is a marketing and consultant agency that specializes in the handling of influencers, brands, and models. With expertise in marketing inform of social media, campaigns, and more KRX assists signed clients in reaching their business desires. As a marketing firm creativity is a factor in the ways in which KRX has been able to help clients’ brands grow over time. Since the agency started from the ground up and has progressed KRX is dedicated to working with small influencers or brands by giving them a voice the mainstream platforms don’t. Prior to becoming an intern for KRX Firm I never knew I would enter an agency with such a talented team filled with dominant young women.
Bloc By Block News
Bloc by Block News is an online publication based in Baltimore, Maryland. By writing articles on the daily about recurring events in Baltimore the publication is able to keep readers informed on the latest event that took place. With a weekly newsletter and social media accounts, Bloc by Block News is able to remind or contact subscribers of new material regularly. With the company being run by talented journalists the publication is trustworthy and ends the stigma that surrounds media. To add on, in the midst of doing such Bloc by Block News is decreasing the stigma that is in relation to Baltimore. As a new intern in the short time, I have been part of Bloc by Block News I have learned many tools to utilize. Since I do live in Washington, DC learning about Baltimore and supporting the locals has been an amazing experience.
Twoez
Twoez is a safe and new dating app that is designated to help you find love, friendships, and a healthy mindset. Founded by two recent college graduates, Clarence and Michael, they are embarking on a journey to start their app by connecting youngsters in college. Apart from relationships, Twoez can be used to develop friendships or more. With the targeted audience being college students Clarence and Michael are determined to make Twoez an essential tool within a school with plans to prosper in the near future. As I became an intern for the company it has been amazing working with individuals in the same age range and understanding the likes of a dating platform.
Bronze Magazine
Bronze Magazine is an online and quarterly printed publication created to celebrate and empower women of color. Entrepreneur, Shawn Stuldivant, found Bronze Magazine to inspire women of color as well with positive, encouraging content in multiple different departments: beauty, lifestyle, and wellness. With a mission to provide a safe space where women can experience the joy of feeling well and good about themselves encourages such warmth and affection to be explored and displayed on the inside and out. To add, Bronze strives to cultivate a community of powerful women who support, elevate, and motivate one another. As a new intern, Bronze Magazine has given me a direct opportunity to my career path before it has began.
Safe Sex PSA
In the spring of 2021, for a course of mine, Health 200: School and Community Safety, I created a Public Service Announcement, also known as a PSA, about Safe Sex. It was an assignment about discussing and spreading awareness about certain health issues plaguing the United States. I decided to create a PSA discussing safe sex with my video targeting the teenage demographic. Unfortunately, as a teenager safe sex was a taboo subject in school that was avoided. Based on statistics many teenagers and young adults are at higher risk of catching a sexually transmitted disease. Instead, I wanted to add to the cause of awareness about the issue that hopefully will be talked about more often.
