Review:

Here we are again this time I am reviewing the second installment into the marvel studios Spider-Man films. As the second movie starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man, I can say he has grown on me and the movies in general. This time the movie was different from the first because this film takes place five years after the first. The reason is, the blip, which happened at the end of Avengers: Infinity War when Thanos snaps his fingers whipping out half of the population. When I say that scared the s**t out of me it did scare the s**t out of me. It was crazy because every time I see movies like that when the population is affected as a whole, I reminisce about our true world. It’s always a, what if? Even though I know the movie is not real I become extremely frightened 🤣. But, back to the movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out after Avengers: Endgame and now the population has returned including Peter Parker, Spider-Man, himself. It was great to see the people arriving when restored because they appeared in the same spot they vanished from. But, during the blip, no one has aged if they did vanish, but if they didn’t, they aged over the five years. Now with his mentor and father figure dead, Tony Stark, Peter

has to gravitate the world carrying a mass number of responsibilities on his own.

The film was great, and I liked that it wasn’t the typical villain with powers. “Mysterio” was supposed to be a hero himself that came from another planet to stop the “Elementals” which turned out to be illusions. In actuality “Mysterio” is a former Stark Industries employee named Quentin Beck who created such illusions for recognition. He is played by Jake Gyllenhaal, 😍, who you rarely see as a villain in movies though he played this villain well. His personality though it wasn’t that dark, self-obsessive and quick witty made the character comedic. I can say that I knew he was the villain from the beginning and manipulated Peter. When the glasses called E.D.I.T.H, standing for Even Dead, I'm the Hero, I knew they would play some role in the destruction. Created by Tony Stark and with such power, they could not be placed into the

wrong hands and that is why it was right to put them in Peters possession. With such a gentle soul and trying to do right by people, he was perfect. That is what also made him the wrong decision he saw the world from a positive light not recognizing that the world is not always a great place. It can be ugly, and he gave a small object with so much power that it can ruin the earth to a person with an ugly soul, Quentin Beck. I can say I understand because he manipulated him, and parker is only 16 years old. Regardless of if he has powers or not, he is still a kid and not yet mentally developed to see the world as what it truly is.

That is why I didn’t blame Peter because it wasn’t his fault. He just thought he was doing good and with Tony gone, he could trust only a handful of people: Aunt May, MJ, Ned, and Happy. None of them sustained the pressure he consumed regularly though they helped as much as they can.

As for the side characters I did like them because they added a lot of comedy to the film as well. With Robert Downey Jr. gone I thought it was going to miss that aspect, but it didn’t. Aunt May even made up the name “Peter Tingle”, which I now call it 🤣, for his enhanced senses were the best! Ned of course is always funny, and his relationship with Betty was the craziest. They started a relationship on an airplane just to end their relationship on an airplane 😃. That is a teenager’s true high school love experience. Happy kind of fulfilled Tony’s place assisting Peter and believing in him. Then you have MJ played by Zendaya whom I think did well this time around. I like that she can be herself, which is weird and defensive, but boys still like her. I was caught off guard by Peter’s crush because he didn’t show any interest in her in the first film, but that happens. When they shared their first kiss I smiled because they do have chemistry even though many count against it. I know people judge them because of the height difference with Zendaya being taller, but I think MJ and Peter are perfect for each other. Not to mention Tom Holland is considerably handsome so who cares about his height. Even if he wasn’t handsome height doesn’t matter, but society has a stigma around short men and tall women for some reason 🙄. The extra charters made

the movie and having Samuel L. Jackson in the movie was perfect. As a person with an interest in acting I always told myself when I play in a film with Samuel L. Jackson, I have made it as an actress. But, Nick Furry is a bad motherf****r and I was having a feeling that wasn’t him which was proven at the end. He would have been caught onto Beck’s fraudulent persona from the beginning.

As for the visuals on this movie they were amazing 🤩! When Beck began to create all those illusions tricking Peter, he even fooled me at certain points. When Peter was able to fight against them that part was even more amazing because you notice the increase in his senses through the sequence. Not to mention in general ways in which the “Elementals” seemed

real through different while made of the four elements: wind, fire, air, and earth. The colors that contrasted and how Peters’s suit differentiated each time were striking as well.

Lastly, as for the star of the film Tom Holland, he was amazing, and his emotions are always shown. Not to mention he can go from funny to serious in a minute which is deeply talented.

He portrayed Spider-Man in such a positive light. He can be young, but mature at the same time with certain flaws because he sees the world in a different light. Like I said he embodies the role of a strong teenager. I liked the scene when he was able to avoid being killed by Beck by seeing through his final illusion. The emotions in his eyes were perfect 👌🏾. I am still not trying to compare him to Tobey Maguire though it is hard, he is amazing. Marvel Studios need to give themselves a pat on the back for picking him as the Spider-Man in the Marvel Comics Universe with Sony.

This movie was great, and I wish the illusions were explained a little more. I had to keep going back to re-watch the scenes during the explanation of the illusions. It ended off with a bang and I am glad I watched this movie the day before going to see Spider-Man: No Way home. Having Spider-Man’s identity exposed is something I never expected, but with Beck being the a**hole he is I wasn’t surprised. Just like he said, “You'll see, Peter. People... need to believe. And nowadays, they'll believe anything.” That is literally how society is today when something is released to the public without true evidence behind it.

I would recommend you to watch this movie! It is great and everyone was great in it. I am

going to write a review on Spider-Man: No Way home soon and I don’t know if words can explain that movie 😲.
