Happy Halloween 🎃! October is one of my favorite months due to the spooky season. I know I have been gone and I will be writing a blog explaining what is going on in my life and the reason why. However, right now I want to let you all know about the best series I have ever read: The Mindf*ck Series!
I’ll Spit on Your Grave has nothing on this series! This series follows Lana Meyers a badass female heroine seeking revenge against those who committed heinous acts against her, her brother, and father. There are five books in the series all ranging between 90-200 pages. I read this book as a buddy read with my friend Isabel! We decided to wait to read this series for the month of October for Halloween and due to the dark theme of the book it was the best choice.
Down below will be a detailed review of each book within the series along with the rating I have for it! I wont be giving a spice review because due to the plot of the book and the significance behind it I don't think that matters. None of the books scored below a 4.5 so there is no reason to prepare yourself for a bad review. They were all awesome and I am sad to say this without the author S.T Abby knowing who unfortunately passed away. She did a remarkable job on this series and made me as a reader respect her. She literally left a stamp on her readers and will always be remembered!
But before you continue to read, I would like to give a trigger warning for this thorough review of each book. This book has not graphic scenes, but graphic details of sexual assault and abuse. It was hard for me to read at times but was manageable because the plot and writing was great!
Here we go, I give you the Mindf*ck series:

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5
Synopsis
The Risk is the first book in the Minkf*ck we are introduced to our heroine, Lana Meyers. She is currently going through a list of people she is seeking revenge against due to an unknown reason deeming her a serial killer. Soon she meets Logan Bennett a FBI agent currently in charge of multiple cases in relation to serial killers including Lana’s. As their relationship progresses Lana finds a struggle in hiding her identity from Logan and those around him. Did I forget to mention "Lana" is supposed to be dead.
Review
I ❤️ Lana! That's all I can say. Though there are no graphic scenes we as readers know what happened to her and it is disgusting. That being she was sexually assaulted by multiple boys including ones younger than her in the town she grew up in Delaney Grove.
She is a strong woman that became a powerful survivor and sought out revenge. People may say she is crazy, but don't forget she wouldn't be doing this if the act committed against her never happened. Also, they will say she should have let the law handle it. The law was those who did it to them. The weird thing is she will get judged before the men would that did such brutal things to her and her family 🤷🏾♀️. The world we live in, huh... The only thing that kind of made me bite my nails and get kind of upset at her was her carelessness with spreading her information to Logan, who is in the FBI. Of course, he would have done a background check. Granted she does have a fake identity, but that can be overlooked if someone dives deeper.
The thing about Logan is he has people that work with him that care about him including FBI agent Hadley Grace. She is a hacker who at the end proves my point when she figures out about Lana lying about her identity 😬. But, I liked Logan. He was a great person who fell hard fast, and I think he is a great FBI agent, but because he loves Lana, he ignored the signs something is off about her and her life. Including times when he would question something or somewhere she is and continues to trust her. I enjoyed the side characters especially Jake. That is my baby and I like the bond he has with Lana that was not sexual at all. In this book we have a brutal serial killer they call the Boogeyman that Logan is following and trying to catch, that a**hole I could not stand and was waiting for him to make his move against the Queen B, Lana.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Synopsis
As the second book in the series Sidetracked is 98 pages being the shortest of the series. The book follows Lana as she continues to hide her identify from Logan while he continues to investigate her, and the serial killer named the Boogeyman who taunts the FBI with his brutal kills. With FBI agent Hadley Grace on Lana's trail Lana continues her journey of revenge even taking a turn to help someone else with their unshed trauma.
Review
When I read this book, I had to be at work at 8:00 AM in the morning having to wake up at 6:00 AM. I started to read this book 12:00 AM at night and finished it at 3:45 AM the same day. I didn't go to sleep until 4:00 AM 😬. People might say that is crazy and not worth it. However, after reading the book it is well worth it 🤷🏾♀️! THIS BOOK WAS TRULY AMAZING! S.T. Abby literally did her research not even about the aspect of Lana's story, but Logans in being an FBI agent and finding a serial killer. The amount of true crime documentaries I have watched about such people and the number of times they were able to escape police custody after being right within their grasp is nuts.
Literally that is what the Boogeyman is and even Lana. However, Lana has her reasons that are valid. The Boogeyman was right there and after watching the recent Netflix show about Jeffery Dahmer and the way the police literally escorted someone back into his house it is sickening how much people’s lives are not taken seriously. With Lana, I wanted her to be more careful and stop being careless. Her relationship with Logan, going after a person not on her list, and even revealing her identity to a certain extent was dangerous and putting her at the risk of being found out. As always, she has her reasons.
Remember when I said she went off her list she went after a person that was horrible and to children specifically. He has a personal connection to Hadley whose mother picked that disgusting human being over her. That scene was disturbing, but Lana saved a life. It was insightful to see Lana finding an old connection from her town, Lindy, who like everybody else believed she was dead was a scary and charismatic scene at the same time. Lana saved someone’s life, while protecting Hadley, and seeking justice for Lindy at the same time who was sexually assaulted and not believed by her husband.
I have never admired a heroine more in my life!
I still love Lana and she is strong and beautiful. I didn’t blame her for falling in love with Logan after what she has been through and being resistant to past relationships. I am glad Abby explored multiple avenues of people being hurt and trauma. She didn’t slide past it, and she is showing revenge beautifully 😌. As usual Logan was amazing in this book. But I can say when it comes to Logans scenes granted they are memorable and amazing, but I always am rushing to read his scenes to get back to Lana. Jake is great, and Hadley: she found out 😯 🤫. The book ended off spectacular and we finally get insight of the Boogeyman and his motive which is Lana, in order to get to Logan and I knew that was coming. The thing is he didn’t know what was coming for him, the coward.

Synopsis
As the third book in the series Scarlet Angel follows Lana and Jake, they continue their quest for revenge. With the Boogeyman after Lana, Logan is trying to protect her while Lana is on her own mission. However, as Lana’s true story is being figured out by the FBI, they are unaware the victim is within their grasp. Another FBI agent finds themselves amid being on both sides of the aisle and trying to protect the one person they should be against. The real question comes into play, what happened in Delaney Grove?
Review
Amazing... That is all I can say about the series and the third book within it. At the end of book two as a reader I wasn't scared for Lana in connection to the Boogeyman because I knew she was going to do damage. She did more than damage 🤣. She kicked his a** to the point he died as a coward, and you saw him for who he truly was a weak man with a weak mind and a weak set of skills.
However, I was worried about Hadley and her finding out, but I knew when she did, she would team up with Lana due to their trauma. That came out to be true when Lana protected her in the second book even risking her identity and list to kill the person that violated Hadley, I knew they would team up. As this book continued, I admired Lana and Jake more and more. Not because of the fact they were seeking revenge, but the fact they help people. I know it might sound weird, but it is true. Not to mention they didn't let what happened control them. Everything they have done lead them back to the one place that created their scars: Delaney Groove. Which is what they wanted, and it was quite amazing how they were able to draw attention to the corrupted town.
As always for Lana to be dating an FBI agent that is trying to catch her, that is more than bold. As for Logan, I like him, and he is good at his job. But love truly made him blinded which is a true statement. I feel like he would have been have caught Lana if she wasn't dating him. Lana is a master of covering up and more, but Logan would have had some leads by now. As for the corrupt politicians in Delaney Grove including the old head of Logan’s FBI quarter their time and coming and I couldn’t wait until the next books to see it. This book is literally the real world, but just on paper with different names.
I just find it hilarious the FBI continues to consider Lana who is the Scarlet Layer now to the public a he 🤣.
All the bodies that are piling up just leads Lana closer to her goal. But this book will have you thinking what exactly happened to Lana and her family. Also, who is the “OG” killer that Lana’s dad was framed for being? All in all, this book and series is fantastic! Two more books left in the series 🤪.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Synopsis All The Lies is the third installment of this vengeful series. The title explains what exactly this book is about spreading the narrative of all the lies coming to a head. Delaney Grove’s lies and corruption is now being exposed including to FBI agents who were unaware of the role FBI officials played in the town’s corruption. Also, Lana’s identity is starting to come to light to people around her, but that does not stop her from taking revenge against those on her list.
Review Lana. Why did you have to get so sloppy? Why? 😨 This book showed the side of Lana that wasn't shown in the others. Which is the more she progresses in her revenge the more she loses part of herself because she is facing repeatedly the permanent scar of what happened to her and her family. However, I know Lana will not lose herself at all she has self-control no matter how much the FBI wants to paint it differently. However, this book gave you more insight into what happened to her and her family which was horrific because the FBI are officially in Delaney Grove. With the original investigator of the “OG” serial killer of Delaney Grove there after he set Robert Evans, Lana’s father, up there is a whole pile of corrupted people in presence. So, I don't blame Lana about losing sight due to love, get cocky because she wanted to protect herself, and seeking revenge because her and her family was done wrong, and I mean brutally.
When I tell you what happened to her, her brother, and even her father was brutal that doesn’t cover it. I was heavily considering skipping the details of what happened, but it is a large factor of the book, so I continued to read it. I am glad I did because as a reader you see the FBI slowly change the ways in which they think about the Scarlet Angel who they believe is seeking justice for Marcus and Victoria Evans who were brutally sexually assaulted and killed. However, Victoria Evans is right there as none other than Lana Meyers. It was interesting to see everything come together and see the town/FBI support Lana. As they like to say, "Too little too late." It's a reason I always say I will never live in a town. Everyone knew what happened to the Evans family and the reason the politicians there specifically the sheriff went after them. Victoria and Marcus were even sexually assaulted in the middle of the street. As for her revenge I'm glad the book explored more than taking a life. She hurts people mentally, financially, and more.
But Kyle if I could have seen his whole scene and read an hour scene I would have been satisfied. He was more than a terrible human being and the fact that he had so much protection was even scarier because a lot of people are him in the real world. His father being the sheriff is dangerous because I did believe he was the “OG” serial killer, but after a while I knew he wasn’t. But he would have eventually become one with his past of killing animals and sexually assaulting women/men on the regular. He was even the ringleader of what happened to Victoria/Lana and Marcus. His reveal scene was spectacular, and Lana and Jake deserved a reward!
It was weird to see everything fall in place when Logan found out from Leonard who Lana was while still outing her but defending her. I kept saying in my head, “Keep it to yourself dude.”
Logan must see Lana loves him because she literally saved his life risking everything early on when multiple people tried to kill him in Delaney Grove. I hated how he used her at the end because what I was afraid of happened. But I have faith in Lana as always. This series is truly amazing, and it will give you a whirlwind of emotions which is why it has the right title 😂.

Review
Words cannot describe the value and epic ending to this series, if you can even categorize it as that. This book was truly amazing and there was never a bad moment about it. The twist and turns within this book were remarkable. My goal for the end of this series was Lana receiving her happily ever after. Which she did! I knew when Logan found out who she really was that he would switch sides. It's like once he knew everything fell into place which was already there. Lana sacrificed everything to protect and save him at times putting herself at risk. I loved them together their chemistry was 💯 and they depended upon each other for happiness. People might say it is toxic, but she is a serial killer, and he is an FBI agent of course it will be. I did like the way Abby drew the lines and hesitant decisions FBI agents go through. They started to understand people like Lana that has certain motives, and they don't look at her as the monster anymore. She is a survivor that is seeking justice after the law failed her evening having a hand in what happened to her. I admired ways in which Lana was strong and could defend herself at all costs. Her revenge was sweet and if I was to receive a book with just scenes holding her taking out her revenge on those that hurt her, I would have been satisfied 🤷🏾♀️.
To see the politicians of Delany Grove, get this sh*t handed to them was breath taking. The scene when she is taking out multiple officials and burning the town down to the ground was emotional, exciting, break taking, and scary. I truly thought Lana was going to die. However, the best scene is when she receives the revenge on the person that was a catalyst in most everything that being the sheriff. She revealed everything to him and looked dumb when it all came to light. As for the twist of who the original killer was, I was surprised. It wasn't until the scene came before the revelation that I knew who it was. But wasn't it kind of obvious? The DVD's, the sickness, his tainted relationship with his child, and his image as a top lawyer. It all added up with Logan details and even Lana afterwards. That being none other than Christopher Denver, Jakes father 😱. I was shocked, but then everything started to come into play, and I was questions myself and the ways in which I missed the signs even when Lana and Jake would talk about him.
I don't have a future as an FBI agent is all I can say 🤣. This book was amazing, and the side characters were amazing especially Jake and Hadley. She grew on me. I think for Jake I am in love because he sacrificed everything for love in both ways. Them together makes sense because they are the opposite of opposites attract.🤪. It was sad to not see Robert's, Lana’s father, name get cleared, but as Logan said, "Not all monsters can go to prison." Which is unfortunately true today and even though justice was served in a physical way it wasn't on paper which lets you recognize image and more matters more to those in power.
For the series to end with Lana and Logan finding there happily ever after and Logan noticing those he looked up to were not in fact genuine in the FBI was refreshing. Those who are supposed to protect would rather cover their own a** instead of standing up for what is right. Also, Jake and Hadley were happy! Apart from that Lana and Logan were still serving the public taking those out that abuse their position and take what is not there’s. I cannot explain how much this series means to me. I know S.T. Abby is no longer here sadly, but I want her to know her series gave survivors a voice. Not many people can speak so strong through a character, but she did. So, it is a thank you to her as a fan. I am going to recommend this book to everyone I know. It tells the tale of corruption and an innocent family that suffered miserably, but one found a way to have justice. This is truly now my favorite series! I don't think anything can beat it 😊.
Final Thoughts
THIS SERIES WAS F*CKING AWESOME!?!?!!?
I can’t get enough, and I will market this book to any everyone that is seeking to read a good revenge book. Many people complained about the first book and stated it was boring and had no plot. I kept thinking that is the first book and you are slowly figuring out what happened as the book went on. There are five books and there are five for multiple reasons that being the fact that S.T. Abby felt like the story needed to be spread out bit by bit which was a smart decision 🤷🏾♀️.
I wish there would have been a spinoff book for Jake and Hadley, but unfortunately there won’t be of course. In retrospect we as readers ended their story off with a happy note, even seeming them enjoy their married life with others in the bedroom as well 😅!
I know I kept saying it during my reviews of each book, but this was great because I have never read a book like this before. I have seen revenge movies but seeing it from the lenses of a person and especially what Lana went through was different.
Another reason this book is important because what happened to Lana and her family is many people’s stories. Not to mention the teenagers that did sexually assault Lana and her brother, many were faced with plenty of allegations after what they did. It was a continuous cycle, but due to the connections and relatives they had they were able to avoid being held accountable, hmm, doesn’t that sound familiar?
I would avoid this book due to multiple trigger warnings as I said before because it took a lot for me to read this series. But I am glad I did because there was not one bad thing about any of the books! I can say there is still more to the story that what my reviews contain so I didn’t soil too much.
Read this series if you are looking for a dark romance with a spooky theme with twist and turns, but a HEA.
Rest In Peace S.T. Abby. You and your writing will truly be missed, but know you gave survivors a voice and readers a story to always remember.
