Reading books has been part of my daily life since my senior year in high school. It was a coping mechanism that assisted me during times of stress and feeling down about my appearance, grades, or more. In my sophomore year of college unfortunately I developed severe cases of anxiety and depression that affected me mentally for over a year. I still suffer from anxiety, but as my therapist stated, “You control it, not let it control you.” That is what I do now and without books I don’t think I would have learned how to develop such a tool. Reading helped me clear my mind and enter a new world that I sometimes wish could be a reality. My imagination would enter a new realm and that is one of the many qualities of reading books that intrigued me.

Now as a recreational book reader that loves to read new books on the regular by an abundance of authors, I am now sharing my reviews. I gained the idea from following Bookstagram accounts on social media platform Instagram. Just by putting in the search bar on Instagram, #bookstagram, a multitude of accounts will pop up. I follow a few accounts: thebuxombibliophile, lcsbookstagram, bellasbookjar, babygyalreadit, kerrysbookss, and more. From said accounts I receive recommendations on the regular within different genres. Unfortunately, right now I can’t build or put as much attention into starting my own Bookstagram so instead I decided to build a blog out of it! In the near future I will definitely be starting my own Bookstagram account and connecting with readers and authors on the regular.

Recently, I have joined a book club as well ran by influencer/blogger and reader, Mary. With a YouTube channel called, moretomary, you can join her book club through the platform. Just click the red button below and it will transfer you to the channel. Once on her channel on the righthand corner you will see the word JOIN and from there you will take the necessary steps to become part of the book club. Every two weeks we choose a book we want to read based on references from Mary and we read the book as a club. Soon after, we share our reviews of the book once done and Mary creates a video that she publishes on said book discussing her views and ours as members. It’s been fun talking to avid readers like myself. If you don’t want to join the club subscribe to her channel her videos are amazing, not to mention her accent makes them even better!

Now to the way I will review books. First, I would like to say I am not a biased person and even if an author is a favorite of mine, I will be honest about if I like the book or not. But, I will always be respectful. I often see people write reviews that are rude and can be disrespectful to the author. Even if you don’t like a book or aren’t fond of the book it doesn't

give a person a right to bash a person which is the opposite of me. I love books as Joe Goldberg from hit Netflix show, "You," likes to say. That is the only thing I have in common with him of course 🤣. Due to me having such a love for books I will not have any negativity on my blog pertaining to books. As for the review process before I start to write an in-depth description of my book review at the top you will find the genre of the book. To add on, I will add the tropes regarding the book such as age gap, teacher & student relationship, male-male-female relationship, enemies to lovers, and more. Of course in the review there will be an in-depth discussion about such. There shall be ratings first pertaining to the overall rating of the book in relation to the plot on a 5 star (⭐️) scale. 1 star being the lowest and five stars being the highest rating a book can receive. As readers we might not like to say it out loud, but we enjoy reading the steamy scenes. So, I will definitely have a rating (🌶) pertaining to such also on a scale of five on the same basis of the stars, but rated differently. Down below you will find a specific chart dedicated to understanding my ratings that you can refer back to at any time! After I will provide a review of each book that can be long, or it can be short it really depends on how much I would like to talk about the book. Also, my reviews may contain spoilers so beware of such!

Book Ratings Breakdown

Overall Book Rating:

⭐️ -- 1 Star: Unfortunately, it was not interesting to me at all and I did not finish it, also known as DNF. There was no plot or character development in the book and I found it unbearable. I will not recommend the book more than likely, but if I did not like the book that doesn’t mean you will not enjoy it.

⭐️⭐️ -- 2 Star: Was on a great track, but came up short due to the plot being rushed or missing scenes that were unanswered at the end. Also, the dialogue between characters was not clear at all. Like the 1 star I will probably not recommend, but it really depends.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ -- 3 Star: Good with a reasonable number of engaging moments and intriguing characters, but could have been better at certain points. Though I finished reading the plot seems to still have needed answers that will not be answered. Will recommend of course!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -- 4 Star: Great, great, great read that still has me thinking about the plot, characters, and dialogue. Of course, it could have been better with a bit added and more that could have made me gasp and make my heart race! But, even though it didn’t I still read the book until the end with a smile on my face. Recommend to anyone I come across looking for a book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -- 5 Star: THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ! From the beginning to end the book was able to keep my attention span while making my heart race and gasping for air 😤. All questions were answered in regard to the plot, and it kept me begging for more, but in the right way. Like 4 stars I will recommend the book to anyone even those that don’t read 😆!

Steamy/Spicy Rating:

🌶 -- 1: No scenes, but even if there are they are dull and lack any description at all.

🌶🌶 -- 2: There are scenes pertaining to sex, but like 1 they lack description. Though the scenes still have more description than 1.

🌶🌶🌶 -- 3: More than one scene, but the scene is not descriptive and forgettable.

🌶🌶🌶🌶 -- 4: More in-depth scenes that are long and very graphic with not just the physical act of sex, but the emotional aspect as well. There is a buildup that prepares the reader for the sex and more.

🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 -- 5: Exactly like 4, but lengthier and more scenes. To add on, the scenes are steamier than expected which makes a person like myself warm all over. When done I sometimes might want to go back and re-read the scene 😉.

As a reader I am not going to not recommend a book just because it doesn't contain any sex scenes. A book is more than sex and some of my favorite books contain no sex at all. But,

that is a full breakdown of ways in which I will organize my book reviews. If you want to recommend me any books to read contact me through email, LinkedIn, or Instagram! I will definitely take your recommendations with a grave assault. Also, on my blog I will sometimes write blogs ranking authors, recommending books based on the holiday, and more. I will probably post a review once or twice a week it depends on how long it takes me to read a book! But, you will hear from me weekly.

I am happy to start this blog and hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Let's go 🤪!
